PFLAG and support those who are working to end discrimination
against lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered people.
- Teach your children that being lesbian, gay, bisexual, or
transgendered is simply another way people are made.
- Be sure to let LGBT family members know that you love them
just as they are.
- Don't tell anti-gay jokes.
- Read and find out more about what it is really like to be LGBT
in our society. For suggested readings, click here.
- Be open with others about having lesbian, gay, bisexual or
transgendered friends and family. Wear your PFLAG pin! Secrecy
breeds shame.
- If you hear someone making an anti-gay comment or joke, let
them know you love an LGBT person, and you don't agree or approve.
- Write or call your elected officials to protest anti-gay
legislation and to support pro-gay or equal rights legislation.
- Encourage open and honest discussion of LGBT issues in your
home, workplace, and religious group.
- Stand with those who believe that discrimination against
anyone is a crime against humanity.
